Aleksandr Izmailov (b. 2003) is a clarinetist, conductor, and composer based in Klagenfurt, Austria. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, he graduated with distinction from St. Petersburg Mussorgsky College of Music in 2022, where he studied clarinet under Prof. Alexey Tikhonov and gained experience in conducting and composition.
Currently, Aleksandr is pursuing a degree in Clarinet Performance with a minor in Vocal Performance at Gustav Mahler Privatuniversität für Musik under Prof. Hubert Salmhofer and a second major in Conducting under Priv. Doz. Martin A. Fuchsberger. He is a member of the "Live Music Now Kärnten" foundation and has led conducting workshops for advanced students in Carinthia, Austria (ECM program).

As a clarinetist, Aleksandr made his solo debut with an orchestra at 17, performing Weber’s Clarinet Concerto No. 2 in Togliatti, Russia. He has been a member of the Mussorgsky College Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Leningrad Oblast Symphony Orchestra. He has also performed in opera productions such as Gianni Schicchi and Cavalleria Rusticana with Opera Prima Wien in Italy.
Chamber music is a key part of Aleksandr's musical life. He was a finalist in the ARTEDEA-Arena 2024 Chamber Music Competition with Trio "Rusalka" and won third prize at the 6th Franz Cibulka Music Competition as a member of Duo "ClaP" (Graz, Austria). His commitment to contemporary music led him to participate in the "Next Generation 24" program at Donaueschinger Musiktage in Germany.
Aleksandr has participated in numerous masterclasses with renowned musicians, including Sergio Pires, Joë Christophe, Tobias Wögerer, and Shirley Brill. In addition to his performance career, he is also a composer, having written works for various instrumentations.
